John Deere is bringing pinpoint accuracy to tillage operations with its TruSet system, which features depth and pressure control as well as mapping. This technology originally launched on the 2730 Combo Ripper in 2015. Now Deere is expanding TruSet’s reach, so that it will be available not only for newer tillage tools, including the 2720 Disk Ripper, but also for existing models. The other pieces of equipment include the 2730 Combination Ripper, 2720 Disk Ripper, 2230 Field Cultivator, 2330 Mulch Finisher, 2620 and 2630 Series Disks and Vertical Tillage tools, and 2510H Nutrient Applicators.

    How It Works

TruSet is all about precision and enabling users to make informed tillage decisions on the fly. You not only get access to depth controls within 0.1-inch accuracy and down pressure of 0 to 900 psi (62 bar) depending on field conditions, but you also get mapping features and data management tools. This means that you can make decisions based on historic data in the future as well. And perhaps the best news surrounding this release is that it doesn’t only come on new from the factory tillage equipment. You can also add it to late-model John Deere implements as well to take advantage of these advanced capabilities.

    2720 Disk Ripper

The release of the 2720 Disk Ripper coinciding to some degree with TruSet expansion is no coincidence, because this newest piece of tillage equipment from John Deere is built to take advantage of those features. You’ll be able to adjust the depth of rippers and the pressure of rolling baskets on the fly, whether in low valleys or going over hills. Whether you opt for the 11-standard 27 feet 5 inches (8.4 meters) 2720 Disk Ripper or the 9-standard 22 feet 5 inches (6.8 meters) model, you’ll get access to the same TruSet features, including active hydraulic stabilizer wheels. John Deere plans to release TruSet for the 2720 Disk Ripper, and many other models, sometime in 2018.
