New Holland Rolls Out TK4 Series Crawler Tractors
New Holland Agriculture, a Turin, Italy,-based equipment manufacturer with more than 85 years of experience building tractors, has announced its latest TK4 Series crawler tractors, now with rounded contoured hood and distinctive cat-eye headlights. Optimized for use in vineyards and orchards, the four new self-propelled tractors in the series are designed to maintain stability in a variety of uneven terrain types, and deliver top-rated operator comfort features, new and enhanced power and performance capabilities, and a more fuel-efficient engine for lower total cost of ownership (TCO).
More Muscle, Less Fuel
The new crawler tractors are equipped with FPT Industrial Tier 4 compliant F5C engines, capable of generating up to 98 horsepower, continuous maximum power from 1,900 to 2,300 rpm, and a new electronic engine management system that results in improved fuel economy. These crawlers are fully Tier 4A-compliant, and to meet the EPA’s strict emission standard, the engines employ both a cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system and a diesel particulate filter (DPF).
Standard Equipment & Upgrades
The new TK4 crawlers feature a redesigned front axle casting that New Holland built to be heavier and stronger, enabling users to load up to 1,100 pounds (499 kilograms) of front ballast or attach bigger and heavier front implements. A 10 millimeter-thick steel bulkhead separates the engine from the footwell area, reducing operating temperatures significantly. Another standard feature on the TK4 is their dust and hot air-blocking side panels.
Other options supported on New Holland’s TK4 Series Crawler Tractors include the Steering-O-Matic Plus single control lever, interchangeable rubber and steel tracks on TK4.80F and TK4.100M, the Lift-O-Matic hydraulic lift control system, and an optional factory cab on Open Field models.
