AGCO recently took home two Red Dot Design Awards, one for its Massey Ferguson IDEAL Combine and the other for the Valtra A4 series of tractors. The Red Dot Design Competition, which started in the 1950s, will have its awards event on July 9th at the Aalto Theatre in Essen, Germany. There were more than 6,300 products up for consideration from 59 countries, judged by 40 independent design experts from all over the world. The jury hands out awards in the categories of Communication Design, Design Concept, and Product Design.

    Valtra A4 Series

Valtra’s A4 series tractors were judged as part of the Commercial Vehicles category and won a Red Dot: Best of the Best Award for innovative design as well as their unique color scheme. Valtra redesigned these tractors from the ground up recently, which makes the award that much sweeter. A4 series tractors offer a wide range of customizable features to fit nearly any application and, in addition to their good looks, benefit from extensive ergonomic design for operator comfort. They also deliver a high degree of safety, serviceability, and durability. Valtra also won Red Dot Design Awards for previous models in 2016 and 2017.

    Massey Ferguson IDEAL

Massey Ferguson’s IDEAL combines were also recognized in the Commercial Vehicles category with a Red Dot: Best of the Best Award. The IDEAL has been making the rounds lately, as it earned a DLG Silver Medal for Innovation, Public Vote Award, and Machine of the Year 2018 award at Agritechnica 2017. The IDEAL’s design is unique among similar models in that it combines a narrow body and a high grain capacity.

Massey Ferguson IDEAL combine harvesters range in power from 451 to 647 horsepower. They take advantage of a slew of connectivity solutions to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity. Some of those solutions include IDEALharvest and Real Time Crop Flow visualization, both of which give farmers more information out in the field and even offer automated adjustments to keep the combine on track without human intervention. All of these cutting-edge technologies come together to help IDEAL combines work smarter while still working just as hard as ever.
