Kuhn has announced numerous new models and features concerning its crop shredder, seeding, and mower products. Among other advances, Kuhn says, growers can expect enhanced accuracy and precision, greater versatility, and easier adjustment abilities.

With the ability to work on land steeper than 30%, Kuhn says its GMD 1021 F series of front-mounted compact mowers is “perfectly adapted to work on slopes and very hilly areas.” (Photo courtesy of Kuhn.)
    New Crop Shredders

Although details are limited, Kuhn announced a new generation of crop shredders with the new BC 6500 R model, billed as ideal for cereal operations, machine cooperatives, and contractors. The machine can shred all types of crop residue, and operators can hitch it to 200- to 400-horsepower tractors “to work very large volumes at high speeds.” A 25.5-inch (647-millimeter) rotor with hammer or universal knives is included, as is a high-capacity drive system with POWERBAND belts.

The SPRING LONGER S 1670 RTR, meanwhile, performs mowing tasks in conjunction with at least 70-horsepower tractors. Operators can hitch the 1670 RTR to the front or rear of a tractor for use with a mower conditioner. The machine features a -55-degree to +90-degree pivot range, enabling roadside, ditch, bank, and hedge maintenance. Kuhn’s BPR 10 series shredder range, meanwhile, now includes two extra widths via 6.9-foot (2.1-meter) BPR 22 and 7.9-foot (2.4-meter) BPR 24 models, which Kuhn says completes its multipurpose reversible range suitable for such light work as shredding pasture and fallow land.

    New Seeding Features

Elsewhere, Kuhn’s VENTA 1010 pneumatic seed drills are now more accurate and easier to adjust, while its multipurpose TF 1512 front hopper offers the versatility of spreading main seed, fertlizer, and plant cover, according to Kuhn. The VENTA 1010 joins the VENTA 1020 and 1030 seed drills targeting growers “seeking to perform shallow seeding in light soil” and “deeper seeding in heavy soil.” Available in QUANTRON S2 and ISOBUS versions, the TF 1512 front hopper can be coupled to seed drills, precision seed drills, or tillage tools and can distribute seeds or fertilizer without additional equipment, Kuhn says.

Kuhn also announced a GMD 1021 F series of lightweight front-mounted compact mowers available in two working widths via the GMD 2721 F and GMD 3121 F models, which are “perfectly adapted to work on slopes and very hilly areas.”
