Billy Goat, a brand of the Briggs & Stratton Corporation, recently announced three new products with the Hurricane X3 and Z3 zero-turn stand-on blowers, and the Next Gen PL2501 25-inch (64-centimeter) PLUGR aerator. The new Hurricane models are the newest entries in the Force series of blowers, including the F6, F9, F10, F13, and F18, and the new 25-inch PLUGR joins Billy Goat’s other aerators, including the PL1800 Series PLUGR 18-inch (46-centimeter) Mechanical Drive, the AE400 and AE1300H, and the AET Series of towable aerators.
Hurricane X3 & Z3
Billy Goat’s new stand-on blowers take advantage of the Quad Control Handle System, which “offers seamless operation of forward/reverse direction, automatic return to neutral, integrated operator presence control and a self-activating parking brake,” according to a Briggs & Stratton press release. They also feature the Dual Deflector Airflow System, which gives the operator more control over airflow to improve efficiency, and the Joystick Deflector Control, which lets the operator change airflow direction from left to right to forward more quickly.
The Hurricane X3 sports a 627cc Vanguard engine and has a maximum travel speed of 9 mph (14 km/h), and the Z3 sports a 993cc Vanguard engine and top speed of 11 mph (18 km/h). Both blowers come with a Twin HYDRO-GEAR 3100 IZT transmissions, Torsion Mounted Front Axle Assembly, 10-gallon (38-liter) fuel tanks, and LED lighting for working at night. They can blow air at up to 165 mph (266 km/h).
Next Gen PL2501 25-Inch PLUGR
The PL2501 PLUGR can aerator can cover up to 42,550 square feet (3,953 square meters) of land per hour. You have the option of a 163cc Honda engine or a 203cc Vanguard 200 engine. The Vanguard 200 engine uses TransportGuard technology to prevent the dilution of oil when the aerator travels between jobs and allows the machine to run for up to 200 hours before requiring an oil change. The PL2501 takes advantage of Variable Aeration Density (VAD), which gives operator the option to change hole spacing from eight to 45 squares per square foot.
Other features include a water weight tank with a 40-pound (18-kilogram) capacity, an EZ Lift n Drop system for engaging and disengaging tines, self-propelled rear-wheel hydro-drive and controls for changing speeds, and an EZ Lift rear foot pedal lifts and locks tines in place.
