Case IH Adds AFS AccuTurn Option To Patriot Sprayers
Case IH recently announced that the Advanced Farming Systems (AFS) AccuTurn automated headland-turning technology that owners of the company’s tractors have been able to use for the last year is now available for use with its Patriot series of sprayers. The company also announced it’s making the RS1 steering system available as an option for Patriot 3240, 3340, and 4440 sprayers equipped with a Case IH Viper 4+ display.
Path-Planning Logic
Compatible with the AFS Pro 700 display, AFS AccuTurn auto-guidance technology enables hands-free, automatic, and repeatable turns. That in turn bolsters productivity in broad-acre and pre-emergence applications, Case IH says. Chris Dempsey, Case IH AFS marketing manager, says AccuTurn “takes the guesswork out of turning on headlands,” adding that the technology “automatically controls the entire headland-turning process with industry-leading path-planning logic.”
Besides reducing skips and overlaps, Case IH says AccuTurn helps cut fuel and labor costs, simplifies sprayer operation, and extends the working day. Mark Burns, Case IH application equipment marketing manager, says adding AccuTurn to Patriot sprayers enables operators to know “they’re consistently covering all of the field, delivering product to each and every plant.”
RS1 Option
With the optional RS1 guidance package, Patriot 3240, 3340 and 4440 operators gain auto-steer functionality, a GPS receiver, and Slingshot wireless communication from the sprayer to a home or office computer.
