Massey Ferguson GC1700 Series Gains Two New Next-Generation Subcompact Tractor Models

Massey Ferguson recently announced that it has added two new models to its GC1700 Series lineup of sub-compact tractors. Massey Ferguson Product Manager Jeffrey Ratliff says the company took an “already outstanding tractor,” made some “simple adjustments,” and developed “the ultimate sub-compact tractor experience.” Besides the 22.5-horsepower MFGC1723E, the company added the 24hp MFGC1725M to the series, which also includes the 24hp MFGC1723EB and 24hp MFGC1725MB.

Among the new features present in Massey Ferguson’s MFGC1723E and MFGC1725M subcompact tractors will be tilt steering, enhanced visibility, more powerful headlights, and an integrated joystick to make loader work easier. (Photo courtesy of AGCO.)
    Mow Or Backhoe

AGCO brand Massey Ferguson is making the MFGC1723E and MFGC1725M available in tractor-only, tractor with loader, or tractor loader with backhoe configurations. While both models feature an ISEKI 1.1-liter 3-cylinder diesel engine and two-range hydrostatic transmission, the MFCG1725M includes a premium seat with armrests and 12-volt outlet built into an internal storage compartment for powering electric attachments.

Massey Ferguson says the 4WD GC1700 tractors are ideal for mowing, snow blowing, loader, and backhoe tasks. Moreover, the tractors can handle two jobs at once due to independent rear (540 rpm) and mid-mount (2,000 rpm) PTOs. While all the series’ tractors support a top speed of 9.1 mph, the new models add tilt steering, enhanced visibility due to a new hood style, more powerful headlights, an integrated joystick that simplifies loader work, and a one-piece rubber float mat as standard equipment.

Don’t let their diminutive size fool you, the Massey Ferguson MFGC1723E and MFGC1725M have the power and versatility to tackle a wide range of tasks, including everything from mowing and yardwork to loader and backhoe work. (Photo courtesy of AGCO.)
    Top Of The Line

Ratliff says with the added improvements, the GC1700 Series demonstrates the company’s commitment “to engineering top-of-the-line equipment for homeowners, contractors, and municipal use.” Ratliff adds that with operator comfort- and performance-minded features in place, the series offers “superior ease-of-use and performance often only found in larger tractors.”
