Fendt To Introduce Fully Redesigned Fendt 900 Series Tractors At 2019 Farm Progress Show
Although pricing details are still to come, AGCO has announced that its Fendt brand of farm equipment will unveil five completely redesigned high-horsepower Fendt 900 Series tractor models at the upcoming Farm Progress Show in late August in Decatur, Illinois. The tractors feature max horsepower ratings ranging from 296 to 415, and were designed specifically for North American producers. AGCO describes the models as agile, crop-friendly machines able to handle “any task a crop producer, large-scale cattle operation, or custom farming operation faces.”
Meet The Gang
Fendt also manufactures 500, 700, 800, and 1000 Series tractors. The redesigned 900 Series models are described as “all-around workhorses” that include numerous technologies from the more powerful 1000 series. The new 900 Series includes the 930 (296 horsepower), 933 (326 horsepower), 936 (355 horsepower), 939 (385 horsepower), and 942 (415 horsepower) tractors.
Each model is equipped with a six-cylinder, 9-liter MAN engine that incorporates a low-rev engine concept that works with Fendt’s TMS (tractor management system) and step-less VarioDrive CVT (continuously variable transmission). Collectively, AGCO says those components enable the engine to function at a maximum engine speed of 1,700 rpm. Even more impressive than its low max engine speed, AGCO says, is the 900’s ability to deliver maximum torque from 1,150 to 1,400 rpm “for maximum pulling power and effective power transfer, which maintains the desired ground speed and reduces wheel slip for minimal impact on the soil.”
Smaller, More Maneuverable
Andrew Sunderman, AGCO tactical marketing manager for high-horsepower tractors, says Fendt’s engineers designed and built the redesigned 900 models to reduce customers’ operating costs while still providing optimum usage. The company accomplished this at least in part by applying technologies that have been proven in Fendt’s 1000 Series tractors. “These technologies have brought our 1000 Series customers a huge benefit that can clearly attribute savings to the bottom line,” says Sunderman. “We fully expect to see the same level of performance and fuel efficiency in this smaller, more maneuverable package.”
The 900 Series models range in operating weight from less than 25,000 pounds up to 42,000 pounds (11,340 to 19,050 kilograms), and provide a front mono-block ballasting system with weights from 1,918 to 5,512 pounds (870 to 2,500 kilograms) that enables operators to quickly and easily re-ballast their tractor according to the application. Elsewhere, front and rear three-point hitches, front and rear PTO linkages, and two front and six rear electrohydraulic double-acting valves are available, as are fender controls for the linkage, valves, and PTO.
Gold Star Care
The redesigned Fendt 900 Series models come with the Fendt Gold Star Customer Care warranty that covers 36 months or 3,000 hours, plus all scheduled maintenance and maintenance items during that period.
