Kubota LX Series Tractors Provide Power, Features In A Compact Package
Kubota recently announced its new LX Series of “crossover” compact tractors for rural residential as well as commercial usage. The 24.9- to 30.8-gross-horsepower family offers maneuverability as well as the power to run a front loader or backhoe. The new tractors should start to appear on dealer lots in late spring.
“With the new LX Series, Kubota will bridge the gap for customers who prefer a smaller chassis size similar to the B Series but need some of the additional power and functionality of our L Series tractors,” says Kubota Product Manager Kelcey Cockrell. “This new series is a crossover and will meet the needs of residential property owners as well as professional operators for snow removal and landscaping applications.”
Compelling Features & Capabilities
The Kubota LX Series includes the full-featured LX2610 and LX3310 models, along with the more basic, ROPS-only LX2610SU (also known as the LX2610SUHSD). Each has a three-range Kubota HST transmission, cruise control, telescoping stabilizers, an integrated loader joystick lever, and a rubber floor mat.
Available in four-wheel drive, LX tractors wear Goodyear R14 tires with a new tread design for traction on snow, ice, and mud. Each can operate 60- and 72-inch (1.5- and 1.8-meter) mid-mount mowers, a 1,000-pound (454-kilogram) front loader, and snow removal attachments. A 3-point hitch supports rear Kubota and Land Pride implements such as a 5-foot (1.5-m) rotary cutter, a box blade, a tiller, and a post-hole digger.
Upscale Model Features
The well-equipped LX2610 and LX3310 boast several more features than the more affordable, entry-level LX2610SU. The list includes tilt steering, a mid-mounted PTO, and a deluxe high-backed suspension seat with armrests. Both models also have a factory cab option with AC/heat, a rear washer/wiper and rear defogger, speakers, and LED front work lights.
Kubota outfits the LX3310’s diesel engine with a common rail system to improve fuel economy and reduce emissions. The company says that the LX3310’s cold weather performance, power, and torque also benefit from the common-rail fuel delivery setup.
