KUHN North America Adds Excelerator XT 8010 To KUHN Krause Vertical Tillage Lineup
KUHN North America has added a new KUHN Krause Excelerator XT 8010 vertical tillage system available in three models to its lineup of vertical tillage tools. Joining the 8005 in KUHN’s Excelerator family, the XT 8010 retains a 1- to 5-degree vertical tillage gang-angle range for “true vertical tillage performance,” but also adds an additional XTended 6- to 8-degree range. The added ability to increase gang angle, KUHN says, will help operators remove shallow-rooted weed growth and fill in light ruts caused by other harvest or fertilizer machines.
The XT 8010
With an in-field ability to operate at 8 to 10 mph throughout the gang-angle range, KUHN says the XT 8010 provides a high-speed vertical tillage tool adept at both fall and spring tillage chores. KUHN is offering the XT 8010 in 8010-30, 8010-34, and 8010-40 models, which respectively include 98, 110, and 132 blades and provide 29.5-foot (9-meter), 33.5-foot (10.2-meter), and 39.5-foot (12-meter) working widths.
Adjust The Gangs
In addition to the 32-flute, 22-inch (55.9-centimeter) Excalibur VT blades and combination 7-inch (17.8-centimeter) front and 8-inch (20.32-centimeter) rear blade spacing, the XT 8010 features a mid-mounted heavy-duty tine section, constant-flow hydraulic down-pressure adjustment for the wing sections, and KUHN’s exclusive Star Wheel treader finishing attachment and conditioning wheel. KUHN says operators can adjust individual gang angles using a mechanical screw adjustment or optional hydraulic “on-the-go” adjustment feature. The latter provides an in-cab selector that enables moving the front and rear gangs simultaneously, keeping the same gang angles front to rear, or adjusting the front and rear gangs independently.
