New Kubota M8 Series Tractors Available March 1st For North American Customers
The all-new M8 Series of tractors that Kubota Tractor Corporation introduced last summer will be available to North American customers via Kubota dealers beginning March 1. Kubota made the announcement at the recent National Farm Machinery Show. Billed as Kubota’s “largest and highest-horsepower utility ag tractor yet,” the M8 series is part of an overall Kubota strategy to enter the North American large utility tractor market. The series includes the 190-horsepower (at 2,100 rpm) M8-191 and 210-hp M8-211 models, both of which include a 6.7-liter Cummins B6.7L Tier-4 Final/Stage V engine.
Ready For Action
Kubota’s strategy involves a customized OEM deal with Buhler Versatile Industries to partner on the development and manufacturing of M8 Series models. Buhler manufactures equipment under the Versatile and Farm King brands. Martin Carrier, Kubota marketing director, ag equipment, says Kubota’s commitment to pursue “commercial ag in a big way” means diversifying its product lines to better meet dealers’ and customers’ needs. “What you’ll see is a machine that is built from the ground up with maximum operator comfort and convenience in mind, ready to take on any job in the commercial hay and forage and livestock market,” he says.
Well-Equipped
The M8 Series models provide a choice of a 30x15 (six-speed, five-range) semi-powershift transmission or the Kubota Variable Transmission (KVT) continuously variable transmission that offers “an infinite number of forward and reverse speeds.” Elsewhere, in addition to an electro-hydraulically operated PTO, the tractors include air suspension seating, a 7-inch K-Monitor display, high-visibility roof panel, and halogen exterior lighting as standard cabin features. Optional features include a 12-inch K-Monitor Pro display, semi-active fabric and leather seating, semi-active electro-hydraulic cab suspension, and LED lighting. Kubota notes the tractors’ Cummins engine features an EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation)-free design that “enables greater fuel efficiency and lower emissions.”
