A Tractor Crossover: Kubota Fully Unveils Its LX Series Compact Tractors

Initially announced in February and arriving at dealerships during May, the LX Series is built to bridge the gap between Kubota’s B and L Series compact tractors. ““The LX Series is the perfect year-round, do-it-all tractor for customers who need the size and maneuverability of our B Series but also want the increased power and functionality of the L Series,” says Kelcey Cockrell, Kubota product manager. “It’s really the best of both worlds that gives you the versatility to work in the lawn or garden but can also take on those heavy-duty loader applications.”

    The Models

The new LX Series is available in three models, ranging from 24.9 to 30.8 gross engine horsepower (18.5 to 23 kilowatts). The LX2610SU (also known as the LX2610SUHSD) is the LX Series’ entry-level option, lacking a mid-PTO, but this compact tractor still provides the same ease of use and will maximize the performance of a Kubota-built front loader, backhoe, or other rear implement. The LX2610 and LX3310 add more versatility, supporting a 60- or 72-inch mid-mount mower. All LX Series tractors have a 3-Point Hitch for rear implements including 5-foot rotary cutters, box blades, tillers, post-hole diggers, and more. The LX3310 also features a Kubota Common Rail System diesel engine that the company says is efficient and produces lower emissions than past iterations while providing a high level of power, torque and performance—even in cold weather.

    Features

The LX Series features Goodyear R14 crossover tires with a new hybrid tread design optimized for performance in a variety of conditions. Most of the series is available in ROPS and cab model designs. On the factory cab models, Kubota equips an air conditioner and heater, front LED work lights, cabin interior light, front and rear wipers with washer, rear defogger, and speakers. Both ROPS and cab models feature cruise control, tilt steering, and a new deluxe suspension seat and armrests with deeper suspension that keeps operators comfortable and productive.
