Kinze Adds 16-Row 4905 True Speed Planter For 2021 Planting Season Availability
Kinze has added another configuration of its 4905 planter featuring True Speed high-speed planting technology to its new 05 Series of planters announced in January. Now available for order, the new 16-row 4905 joins a 24-row version that Kinze previously announced for the 2021 planting season, both of which provide numerous enhancements. Kinze President Susanne Veatch says Kinze originally planned to introduced the 16-row 4905 for the 2022 season, but “testing went so well” it moved availability up to the 2021 season. Kinze also offers 4705 and 3665 High Tech planters, along with numerous Classic models.
Fast & Accurate
Veatch says both 4905 versions can help growers double the acres they plant in an average day or cover equal acres faster. Both can also help operations looking to expand by enabling them to plant more acres with the same size planter, she says. Besides Kinze’s True Speed system, which includes a new high-speed electric meter and seed-delivery tube system, the 4905s incorporate a Blue Vantage display, Blue Drive electric drive, and high-speed cast row units. Those help support accurate planting at up to 12 mph, Kinze says, meaning farmers can accommodate tight planting windows while still maintaining “precise singulation and speed spacing.”
Enhancements included in 05 Series models include quieter, high-efficiency vacuum fans, a redesigned bulk-fill seed delivery system that operates at higher planting rates and is compatible with more crops types, improved serviceability and shorter planter lift times via simplified hydraulics, double-row bearing disc openers offering longer wear life, and row unit double-parallel arm bushing with infused lubrication.
What You'll Get
Key benefits Kinze says growers can expect with the new 4905 model include three-click planting startup via the Blue Vantage display, consistent seed-depth control via the True Depth downforce system, lower tractor hydraulic requirements, reduced pinch-row compaction via a hydraulic weight transfer system for the 120-bushel bulk seed tank, a shorter turn radius, and a 600-gallon (2,271-liter) fertilizer tank for fewer stops and greater efficiency.
