New 7R 350 Model & Other Updates On Tap For MY 2021 John Deere 7R & 8R Tractors
John Deere is now taking orders for model year 2021 7R and 8R tractors, with deliveries beginning in November. Buyers are in store for several notable updates, including a new series-topping 350-horsepower 7R 350 model that offers 20 more horsepower than the 7R 330. Elsewhere, 7R models with an IVT (Infinitely Variable Transmission) are getting a self-adjusting LSB (Large Square Baler) Ride Control feature designed to improve operator comfort. All 7R and 8R models are receiving Deere’s ActiveCommand Steering 2 (ACS 2) system designed to improve the driving experience, while a Low Sidewall (LSW) Tire option is available for the 8R 340, 370, and 410 tractors.
Power-To-Weight Ratio Champ
In November, Deere announced a new seven-model 7R lineup from 210 to 330 horsepower that packs high horsepower into compact, agile chassis. Deere also announced a redesigned 8 Series Family of 8R (wheel), 8RT (two-track), and 8RX (four-track) models from 230 to 410 horsepower. With the new 7R 350, customers can expect “the best power-to-weight ratio” of any Deere tractor available. Designed for power-hungry tasks like hauling slurry or forage or powering large mowing and baling machines, the tractor comes standard with a Triple Link Suspension and IVT, and CommandPRO controls are an available option.
LSB Ride Control, meanwhile, is compatible with Deere L331 or L341 large square balers, and requires a Deere StarFire receiver. The system compensates for baler-generated inertia created by the plunger’s rocking motion by modulating the IVT, thus enhancing operator comfort and reducing soil compaction and crop damage. ACS 2 is available as a factory-installed option for any 2021 7R or 8R model, and supplants the existing ACS system. Among other things, operators can set ACS 2 to make in-field turning easier or provide a more automotive-like steering experience.
Low Sidewall Tires
The LSW Tire option for MY 2021 8R 340, 8R 370 and 8R 410 models works with Deere’s Independent Link Suspension to improve ride quality, decrease compaction, and provide other benefits.
