Fendt’s 1100 Vario MT series are two-track tractors designed for big crop production jobs like medium-to-heavy high-speed tillage and pulling the largest planters and seeding implements. With horsepower ranging from 511 to 673 (376 to 495 kilowatts), Fendt’s new tractors give growers plenty of power and torque, as well as technology that helps to effectively transfer that power to the ground. Key advancements, according to Fendt, include a new approach to track machine suspension, more ballasting options, two industry-exclusive rear hitch systems, and many features to provide operator comfort.

    Four Models To Choose From

All 1100 Vario MT tractors are designed to produce maximum torque at 1,100 rpm. Three models are powered by MAN six-cylinder, 15.2-liter diesel engines, with model numbers that roughly correspond to horsepower ratings as follows: the 1151 (511 hp), 1156 (564 hp; 415 kW) and 1162 (618 hp; 455 kW). AGCO says the flagship 1167 Vario MT is the highest-horsepower tracked tractor on the market, at 673 hp; it’s powered by a MAN six-cylinder, 16.2-L diesel engine. All configurations offer the Fendt iD low-rev engine concept working in unison with the Fendt Tractor Management System (TMS) and stepless VarioDrive transmission. The powertrain technologies combine to let the Fendt 1100 Vario MTs run in the maximum torque range but at lower revs, which helps cut fuel costs.

    Optimized Traction & Floatation

AGCO’s patented Mobil-Trac system is the said to be the only mid-wheel design with a suspended undercarriage and rolling mid-wheels. Fendt engineers lengthened the wheelbase for better weight and power distribution along the belt, producing a smoother ride and reducing compaction. And when combined with the wide belt options, the Fendt 1100 Vario MT’s track design is thought to provide better flotation and minimize yield-robbing compaction. The 1100 Vario MT also boasts the Fendt-exclusive Smart Ride Plus load leveling. The hydraulic system for Smart Ride integrates with the front suspension springs to adjust the tractor height and keeps the chassis level to maintain the correct angle between the tractor hitch and rear implements.

Each Fendt 1100 Vario MT is backed by Fendt’s Gold Star Customer Care, with a full warranty and no deductible for 36 months or 3,000 hours, plus all scheduled maintenance and more. (Photo courtesy of AGCO.)

    Smoother Turns

“We’ve added some totally new, Fendt-exclusive innovations, such as a steerable three-point hitch system and a hydraulically controlled swinging drawbar option that make headland turns with large implements smoother for the operator, less demanding on the tractor, and gentler on the soil,” says Strategic Marketing Manager Tom Turner. “The swinging drawbar allows the tractor to turn closer to the center point for wide planters, air seeders, and tillage tools, requiring less power for steering and navigating wet field conditions. The steerable three-point hitch is ideal for contour farming and turning when using mounted implements under heavy draft loads.”
