John Deere Adds All-New 5125M, PowrQuad Transmissions & More To 2022 5M Series Tractor Lineup

New PowrQuad transmission options, added technologies, and an all-new 125-horsepower (93-kilowatt) 5125M model are part of John Deere’s newly announced 2022 model year lineup of 5M Series utility tractors. The 5125M joins the 5075M, 5090M, 5100M, and 5115M variants in a lineup that now includes tractors ranging from 75 to 125 HP. In addition to making clutchless-shifting PowrQuad transmission options available with select configurations, Deere is making AutoTrac guidance technology available for certain PowrQuad-equipped variants.

The 5M Lineup

Deere says the added horsepower and other refinements to the 5M lineup for 2022 should entice customers tackling hay, livestock, roadside mowing, and commercial property jobs, as well as those who work large properties. All 5M models for 2022 use a four-cylinder, 4.5-liter JD PowerTech Tier 4 Final diesel engine except the 5075M, which is equipped with a three-cylinder, 2.9-L PowerTech 3029 power plant. All except the cab-only 5125M are available with a cab or open station option (and the climate-controlled cab now includes a panoramic sunroof), and all but the 4WD-only 5115M and 5125M come in 2WD or 4WD configurations.

PowrQuad transmissions, which Deere says offer clutchless, push-button shifting, are available options in cab versions of the 5090M, 5100M, and 5115M, and come standard with the 5125M. PowrQuad options include PowrQuad PLUS, with 16 forward and 16 reverse speeds, and Powr8, with 32 forward and 32 reverse speeds and ECO Shift compatibility.

Automation At Your Service

Automated AutoTrac guidance technology is being made available as a factory-installed option for 5M models with PowrQuad installed. AutoTrac is accessible via a display on the improved dashboard, and helps operators reduce overlapping, field passes, fuel consumption, and operator fatigue.

“No other utility tractor on the market offers this level of integrated guidance on a mid-spec utility tractor, making the productivity potential of the 5M Series unmatched," says Deere Marketing Manager Greg Christensen. "This low-cost, entry-level guidance system can later be upgraded by plugging in a premium display for mapping and prescription-based applications."
