AGCO, the parent company of Massey Ferguson, Fendt, Challenger, Valtra, and other agriculture brands, recently announced that it has received seven AE50 Awards from the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) for 2022. ASABE selects 50 products each year from the agriculture, food, and biological industries that attained remarkable innovation, significant engineering advancement, and impact on their markets. Massey Ferguson was recognized for the 8S Series of tractors. The awards will be presented at ASABE’s Agricultural Equipment Technology Conference in February 2022.

    A Singular Dedication

“The AE50 Awards are among our industry’s highest achievements and AGCO is very proud to be honored again this year with ASABE’s recognition,” says Brad Arnold, senior vice president, Product Management at AGCO. “While these awards span multiple AGCO brands, they represent a singular dedication to the farmer-first focus that guides every brand and employee at AGCO. These high-quality, smart solutions are designed to provide exceptional outcomes for our customers and enable more sustainable, efficient, and profitable operations.”

About The Massey Ferguson 8S Series

The Massey Ferguson 8S Series consists of six tractors ranging from 205 to 305 maximum horsepower (153 to 227 kilowatts). The series offers hydraulic and cooling improvements, a number of new features, and two transmission options: the dual-clutch Dyna E-Power and the Dyna-VT, a continuously variable transmission that allows operators to select an exact speed and engine RPM. The series’ six-cylinder, 7.4-liter AGCO Power engine is compliant with Tier 4 Final emissions standards and uses a compact, all-in-one aftertreatment unit.

The tractor’s Protect-U design increases separation between the cab and hood for better fresh air flow to the engine and quieter operating conditions in the cab with a noise level of just 68 decibels. The redesigned cab has a new frame and a color scheme and shape reflective of vintage Massey Ferguson tractors. The spacious cab offers 3.4 cubic meters (120 cubic feet) of interior volume and 360-degree visibility. The new Control Center armrest has the latest MultiPad lever for complete fingertip control. The ISOBUS-compatible lever operates all tractor functions and has a micro-joystick to control two spool valves.
