A Closer Look At The Case IH Steiger 620 Quadtrac

    Posted On: January 4, 2022

The Steiger 620 Quadtrac is equipped with a 12.9-liter Stage IV-compliant FPT engine with two-stage turbo. The HI-eSCR technology enables the tractor to meet emission standards without the use of a diesel particulate filter.

Case IH's acquisition of Steiger in 1986 made it among the first brands to mass-produce 4WD articulated tractors, and later it became the first to offer a four-tracked articulated high-horsepower tractor with the introduction of Case IH Quadtrac machines in 1997. The Steiger 620 Quadtrac combines the best of those lines in one tractor. The Steiger 620 set records for drawbar fuel efficiency, drawbar horsepower, and maximum pull at the Nebraska Tractor Test Laboratory in 2017. For the 20th anniversary of the Quadtrac that same year, Case IH introduced the CVXDrive continuously variable transmission as an option on Steiger 370 to 540 and Quadtrac 470 to 540 models.

    About The Steiger 620 Quadtrac

The Steiger 620 Quadtrac is equipped with a 12.9-liter Stage IV-compliant FPT engine with two-stage turbo. The HI-eSCR technology enables the tractor to meet rigorous emissions standards without the use of a diesel particulate filter (DPF). The 620’s standard 16x2 full Powershift transmission lets the tractor reach road speeds up to 25 mph (40 km/h), and its Automatic Productivity Management feature lets operators adjust their target transport speed using the integrated scroll wheel. The parallel priority Pressure Flow Compensating circuit delivers precise flow and pressure with no waste. The hydraulic system has up to eight remote valves to offer flow options ranging from 159 to 428 liters per minute, and a center-pull drawbar connected to the main articulation joint yields increased pulling power.

The independent four-track design eliminates slippage between the drive wheel and track for superior traction with minimum soil compaction.

The independent four-track design eliminates slippage between the drive wheel and track for superior traction with minimum soil compaction. The design of the tracks provides a smooth drive on the road as well. Operators also benefit from new technology. Auto-guidance systems such as AccuGuide provide accuracy as tight as 2.5 cm (RTK+ signal) and AccuTurn automates the entire headland operation for greater reliability and efficiency.

    Comfortable Cab

A four-point cab suspension stabilizes the cab in all directions for a smooth ride on any terrain. Each corner has shock-absorbing components with springs, dampers, and mounts to isolate the cab from the chassis. An optional red leather seat is available with heating, ventilation, and an active suspension. A 40-degree swivel makes it easy to check what’s going on behind the tractor, and the steering wheel can be tilted and height-adjusted to increase operator comfort.
