Case IH recently unveiled the latest addition to its planter portfolio, the 2150S Early Riser front-folding trailing planter. The 2150S has a split-row configuration and boasts a 525-gallon (1,987-liter) liquid fertilizer tank as an option along with a higher seed capacity to boost productivity.

    About The 2150S Early Riser

The 2150S Early Riser’s optional 525-gal liquid tank maximizes the time between refills and delivers accurate application rates with help from a number of multiple factory-installed options, including frame-mounted coulters and in-furrow applications. The planter also has two 50-bushel (1,762-liter) tanks for a seed capacity of 100 bu (3,524 L) and optional tank scales that optimize partial seed fills and make it easy to plan tendering.

The 2150S offers several configurations, including 15-inch (38-centimeter) spacing with 23, 24, 31, or 32 rows, or 20-in. (50.8-cm) spacing with 24 rows. Narrow-row planting can provide increased yield and faster crop canopies with minimal soil erosion, Case IH says, and the new Early Riser’s in-cab hydraulic row unit lift control makes it easy to convert spacing without manual lifting or extra tools. The split-row configuration offers an industry-leading row unit offset of approximately 50 in. (127 cm), which can help increase residue flow and decrease plugging. A wing flex of +/- 15 degrees combined with +/- 8 in. of row unit travel ensures constant contact with the soil over uneven terrain. Hydraulic wing downforce that ensures proper seed depth control on the wings is available as an option.

The front-fold frame design gives the 2150S Early Riser a transport width of just 13 feet. (Photo courtesy of CNH Industrial.)

The front-fold frame design also gives the new planter a transport width of just 13 feet (4 meters), which can be simply achieved and then reversed using Case IH’s on-screen folding-and-unfolding system.

    Stay Productive

“Staying productive in the field is key to getting ahead of a potentially unpredictable planting season,” says Case IH Planter Marketing Manager David Brennan. “Greater fertilizer and seed capacity lets operators do their jobs more easily—without having to worry about capacity concerns while out in the field.”

The 2150S Early Riser is currently available to order for spring 2023 planting along with the optional planter-frame-mounted 525-gallon tank and the pull-hitch towed fertilizer cart.
