New Enhancements To Case IH Puma & Maxxum Tractors Boost Productivity Through Comfort

Case IH recently announced upgrades to its Maxxum- and Puma-series tractors that the company says increase operator comfort, which will in turn, increase productivity. New features include a low-mount wiper to improve visibility, new aluminum steps, new monitor bars with USB outlets, new rearview mirrors, and improved safety lighting. The upgrades build on changes made to select 2021 models, which included a redesigned hood for the Puma 150 and 165, improved lighting, and the new Hi-eSCR2 selective catalytic reduction technology for longer service intervals and enhanced fuel economy.

About The Maxxum Series

Maxxum model year 2022 tractors equipped with MultiControl armrests have been upgraded with the new features, including an in-cab cool box, a new battery cutoff switch located outside the door, and an advanced loader joystick with reverser. The MultiControl Armrest has a MultiFunction Handle that puts around 90% of the most frequently used controls in one hand and is included on all Maxxum ActiveDrive 8 and Maxxum CVXDrive models. The loader joystick allows operators to shift all 24 gears on ActiveDrive 8 or to change between programmed speeds on the CVXDrive without moving a hand. Maxxum tractors are powered by either a turbocharged 4.5-liter, four-cylinder or 6.7-liter, six-cylinder aftercooled engine and have a rated horsepower range of 116 to 145 (86.5 to 108 kilowatts). The series is available with Case IH’s ActiveDrive 4 semi-powershift, ActiveDrive 8 dual-clutch, or CVXDrive continuously variable transmission options.

About The Puma Series

For 2022, the Puma series received an updated grill with enhanced LED work lights for a uniformly lit work area along with an in-cab cool box for keeping beverages cold and a low-mounted front wiper on 185 to 240 models for better visibility. The addition of Hi-eSCR2 emissions technology gives the tractors longer service intervals, with up to 750 hours for engine oil and 1,500 hours for transmission fluid. The tractors are powered by the Case IH 6.7-liter, six-cylinder turbocharged, intercooled engine with 24 valves for faster throttle response. Puma-series tractors are available with either a CVXDrive continuously variable or a PowerDrive powershift transmission.
