Case IH Refreshes Hay Equipment Lineup, Introduces New DC5 Series Mower Conditioners
Case IH recently announced a number of new additions and updates to its selection of hay and forage equipment, including the arrival of four new center-pivot DC5 series disc mower conditioners. The DC105, DC125, DC135, and DC165 disc mower conditioners join the DC3 series’ DC93 and DC103 models to provide a range of cutting widths from 9.2 to 16 feet (2.8 to 4.9 meters), cutting heights from 0.95 to 3.2 inches (2.4 to 8.1 centimeters), and disc speeds from 2,250 to 3,000 rpm. Case IH says the DC5 models’ additional agronomic innovations, toolless adjustments, and larger sizes result in superior crop flow, faster dry-down times, and enhanced efficiency.
DC105
The DC105 has a 10.1-ft (3.1-m) cut width and includes a modular cutter bar with no-tools adjustment. It’s available with a rubber-on-rubber rolls conditioning system designed for leafy crops or a flail conditioning system that removes the waxy exterior layer on the stem for faster dry-down in grass. The DC105’s smaller size makes for easier road and bridge transport, as well as small-field operation, Case IH says.
DC125
The DC125 has an 11.7-ft (3.6-m) cut width and is available with a rubber or steel-on-steel roll conditioning system designed to take on abrasive soils or rocky conditions, or a flail conditioning system. It features a longer swath gate, which allows for fin and wedge adjustments and that Case IH says improves on the cutting and windrow performance of previous designs.
DC135 & DC165
The DC135 replaces the DC133. It incorporates eight discs and a 13.1-ft (4-m)-wide cutterbar and is available with the same conditioning options as the DC125. The DC165 replaces the DC163 and is designed for heavy-duty mowing conditions. It includes 10 discs and a 16.5-ft (5-m)-wide cutterbar, and provides options for rubber or steel conditioning systems.
