Fendt is refreshing its best-selling 700 Vario series of tractors with five models featuring a new AGCO Power 7.5-liter diesel engine. The Vario 700 Gen7 tractors range from 203 to 283 horsepower (149 to 208 kilowatts), and on the flagship 728 Vario, Fendt’s DynamicPerformance technology boosts power to 303 HP (222 kW) as needed. All of the Vario 7 Gen7 tractors benefit from Fendt’s iD low engine speed concept, which allows the powertrain to produce high levels of torque at low engine speeds to reduce fuel consumption.

“With a combination of key upgrades and new features, these tractors are the perfect combination of strength, agility, functionality, and comfort, making them ideal for everything from haying and livestock work to heavy-duty field or fleet operations,” says David Soliday, senior tactical marketing manager for Fendt tractors.

    The Gen7 Lineup

The new 700 Vario series includes the 720, 722, 724, 726, and 728 Vario Gen7 models. Fendt’s latest Vario continuous variable transmission (CVT) technology distributes power dynamically, independently driving the front and rear axles so operators don’t need to switch all-wheel drive on or off. Fendt also automates engine cooling on demand with its Concentric Air System (CAS), which is driven by its own hydraulic motor to decouple the cooling system from the engine speed.

“Delivering impressive power through innovative engineering was a focal point when designing and developing the new Fendt 700 Vario series,” Soliday says.

    What’s New

Fendt is adding some of the most popular features found on its larger tractor series, such as the 900 Gen7 and 1000 Gen 3 tractors, to the new 700 Vario Gen7 models. Fendt’s VarioGrip tire pressure control system, for example, lets operators quickly deflate the tires when working in the field for better traction and reduced soil compaction or inflate them for improved improve handling and fuel efficiency at road speeds. Buyers have the option to increase hydraulic pump capacity on the new 700 Vario series to 58 gallons (219 L) per minute, allowing the new tractors to accomplish tasks more efficiently. The FendtONE operator station with its intuitive touchscreen control is also onboard to let drivers manage vital systems in the cab.
