Case IH Introduces New Farmall 90 A & 100 A Tractors With More Torque, New 4-Pillar Cabin
Case IH has launched two new Farmall A tractors, the 90-horsepower (67-kilowatt) 90 A and 100-HP (75-kW) 100 A. The maneuverable, fuel-efficient new Farmalls have more torque and a new, four-pillar cab, as well as maintenance-free exhaust systems that are compliant with EU Stage V emissions standards. Case IH says the tractors are ideal for small and medium farms and ranches.
“The new Farmall 90 A and Farmall 100 A are significant new introductions for Case IH in this important sector of the market,” says Edoardo Ronco, Case IH Product Manager for the Farmall A range. “Both incorporate significant benefits which make them more productive, more cost-effective, and more comfortable to operate.”
Power & Drivetrain
The FPT F5 diesel engine cradled in the new Farmall 90 A and 100 A provides 47% more torque, according to Case IH. The tractors have respective 280- and 332-pounds-foot (380- and 450-newton-meter) ratings at 1,300 rpm.
The 3.6-liter, four-cylinder engine is a four-valves-per-cylinder design with common-rail fuel injection. Its High-eSCR2 exhaust aftertreatment system requires no filter replacement or mechanical cleaning. The motor has an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) rate of less than 10%, allowing for a more compact system. The FPT engine also has 600-hour service intervals and larger, 34.4-gallon (130-liter) fuel and 3.8-gal (14.4-L) AdBlue tanks.
The standard transmission in the Case IH Farmall 90 A and 100 A is a 12 x 12 mechanical unit with a 25-mph (40-km/h) top speed. Options include a 20 x 20 creeper and a hydraulic Powershuttle with three ranges of four gears each.
Four-wheel-drive versions of the Farmall 90 A and 100 A come with a Class 1.0 heavy-duty front axle with an electrohydraulic differential lock. The four-wheel-drive system can be automatically engaged under braking. The disc brakes on the tractors are of an adjustment-free, annular style.
Base Features & Available Options
The Farmall 90 A and 100 A offer standard and optional features addressing farm work, such as seeding, spraying, fertilizing, and light tillage, as well as livestock duties including hay, forage, and feed transport. The tractors have a self-modulating, electrohydraulic, independent, three-speed (540/540E/1,000-rpm) rear PTO with ECO and ground speed options. A 1,000-rpm front PTO is also available.
The rear linkage of the 90 A and 100 A can lift up to 9,700 pounds (4,400 kilograms). Case IH’s Lift-O-Matic system can quickly raise and lower implements on headland turnarounds. A 3,086-lb (1,400-kg)-rated mechanical front linkage is available.
Among the options for the new Farmall A models is an Extra Flow, 217-gallons (82-liters) per minute hydraulic pump with an open-center design and up to three remote outlets. Brackets and hydraulics are also available to mount a front loader such as the Case IH L3815A. The L3815A can lift up to 4,237 lbs (1,922 kg) and has a maximum lift height of 12.5 feet (3.8 meters).
A Comfortable Cab
The new four-pillar cab on the new Farmalls has a flat floor, more interior space, and a 320-degree field of view. Air conditioning comes standard, as do an air suspended seat, a USB socket, and a phone holder. The noise level inside the cabin is 77 decibels or less.
Options for the new cab include up to four outside working lights and a wider roof hatch for better overhead visibility.
