Case IH & New Holland Win ASABE AE50 Awards For Planter, 3-Point Hitch, Sprayers & Round Balers
CNH Industrial’s Case IH and New Holland brands have each won two 2023 AE50 Awards , which are annually sponsored by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE). Case IH won for its new Early Riser 2150S front-folding spit-row planter and its new three-point hitch system for the seven-model Steiger Series tractor lineup. New Holland was honored for its 2023 Guardian front boom sprayers with Precision Land Management (PLM) Intelligence and its all-new Pro-Belt Series of variable-chamber round balers. AE50 awards recognize 50 products from the agriculture, food, and biological systems industries for outstanding innovation, engineering advancement, and impact on the markets they serve.
Case IH Awards
The 2150S is a member of the five-model 2000 Series Early Riser lineup, which has options from 12 to 47 rows and 15- to 30-inch (38.1- to 76.2-centimeter) spacing. CNH Industrial says the 50-in. (127-cm) split-row offset (front to back) design of the 2150S maximizes residue flow and reduces plugging, thus creating more efficient and agronomic operation. In-cab hydraulic row unit lift control lets operators easily convert spacing, and the planter’s 30 degrees of wing flexibility and hydraulic wing downforce respectively produce exceptional ground-following capability and enhanced depth control, Case IH says.
Steiger Series tractors are available in wheeled, Rowtrac, Quadtrac, and scraper configurations and with FPT 8.7- or 12.9-liter engines with rated power options ranging from 370 to 620 horsepower (276 to 462 kilowatts) and a choice of PowerDrive powershift or CVXDrive continuously variable transmission. The award-winning three-point hitch system is designed to maximize the power and lift capacity of wide-frame Steiger models. CNH Industrial says the system’s 20,000-pound (9,072-kilogram) lift capacity and increased maximum lift height enables the tractors to take on a more varied set of tasks.
New Holland Awards
Available in three models all with 90- to 135-foot (27.4- to 41-meter) front boom options, the 2023 Guardian front boom sprayers include the IntelliSpray II nozzle control system as well as Slingshot precision technology from Raven Industries. Benefits of IntelliSpray II include 2.5 times greater accuracy compared to similar systems, CNH Industrial says. The sprayers have all-new electronic controls and offboard connectivity plus such upgrades as in-cab liquid-management system controls and a display at the sprayers’ fill station.
The two-model Pro-Belt baler series is designed for professional haymakers and contractors. Both models have the ActiveDrop rotor drop floor that alerts operators when a load on the rotor is nearing maximum capacity so they can adjust baling speed and avoid rotor overloading.
