Case IH Expands Steiger Series With Addition Of 6 New AFS Connect Tractors
Case IH recently introduced six all-new high-horsepower models to its Steiger line of tractors. The Steiger 425, 475, 525, 555, 595, and 645 all come equipped with the manufacturer’s AFS Connect data management technology to increase efficiency. The new tractors are available in Quadtrac, Rowtrac, and scraper configurations, as well as a chassis design with heavy-duty wheels, and are ideal for tillage, planting, seeding, slurry, fertilizer, land leveling, and other jobs.
“For generations, Steiger series tractors have been a household name across countless operations,” says Mitch Kaiser, Case IH marketing manager, Steiger and Quadtrac tractors. “These new AFS Connect Steiger models will provide more power, torque, fuel efficiency, and comfort—all while giving operators more options for seamlessly tracking, sharing, and managing data with confidence.”
The New Models
With a peak power range of 467 to 699 horsepower (348 to 521 kilowatts), the AFS Connect Steiger series can tackle almost any task. New Stage V engine upgrades improve engine response time by 50% and the fuel system has been updated with next-generation fuel injection equipment and a new fuel lift pump for improved fuel supply routing. Buyers have two transmission options, the Diesel-Saver Automated Productivity Management PowerDrive powershift transmission and the CVXDrive continuously variable transmission.
Select models can be equipped with a second AFS Pro 1200 display to allow the operator to simultaneously monitor separate ISOBUS implements such as planters, fertilizer bars, and air seeders. Other options include AFS AccuSync machine coordination and AFS AccuTurn Pro technology for one-button-push turns and enhanced autoguidance.
Upgraded Cabs
The new Steiger series also features upgrades geared toward operator comfort. The new cabs have a new top and subroof styling, integrated overhead grab rails, improved door handles, new front and upper-roof side RAM mounts for display mounting, and additional front console storage. The LED lighting package has options for 360-degree night lighting. There is also an option for a new premium sound system with an amplifier, tweeters, a 6.5-inch subwoofer with ported box, and additional speaker grilles.
“We know that extended time out in the field takes a toll on operators,” Kaiser says. “That’s why we’ve prioritized comfort upgrades, because we know in-cab convenience is just as important as in-field productivity. To that end, we’ve improved lighting conditions by 27% and visibility by 8%—all while boosting fuel economy and overall power.”
