Agricultural machinery manufacturer Agco recently received 10 AE50 awards from the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE). The annual awards, started in 1986, recognize 50 products in the agricultural, food, and biological systems industries for innovation, engineering, and market impact. Two of this year’s winners came from Agco’s Hesston by Massey Ferguson line: the WR Series self-propelled windrower and the LB2200 Series large square baler.

“From the industry’s first large square baler to these cutting-edge releases, Hesston by Massey Ferguson has led the hay and forage industry when it comes to reliable, user-friendly solutions,” says Matt LeCroy, director, marketing hay and harvesting North America, for Massey Ferguson. “We are proud to have these machines recognized for their innovation and positive impact on the North American hay market.”

    The WR Series Windrower

The WR Series windrower has an exclusive closed-center auxiliary hydraulic system that can reduce fuel consumption or increase available power as needed, and that obviates the need for a secondary pump. The windrower also has a 150-gallon fuel tank for increased uptime and productivity, and is equipped with helpful tech like the Datatronic 5 console, which increases field efficiency with real-time tracking and data management. MF Guide provides accurate auto-steering and reduces pass overlap for fuel savings of up to 12%.

    The LB2200 Series Baler

The updated Hesston baler has a five-bar pickup to increased productivity and improved crop flow that produces better flakes. The LB2200 Series pre-forms each flake in a pre-compression chamber before moving it to the plunger to create dense, consistent bales. The new poly tine wrappers have a longer service life than the traditional metal components and reduce noise to make long hours of operation less stressful. On the technology side, the baler has new CEA electronics for improved knotter trip, TIM functionality, and telemetry, and a new user interface. The model comes with new axle and tire options for a more comfortable ride both in the field and on the road.

“Hesston by Massey Ferguson hay equipment is known for high productivity and producing some of the best-quality forage,” LeCroy says. “The WR Series and updated LB2200 Series provide the efficiency and dependability producers have come to expect, with added comforts that make the long days in the field more enjoyable.”
