New Holland Debuts Upgraded T4 F/N/V & TK4 Series Specialty Tractors In North America
Earlier this month, New Holland's updated T4 F/N/V and TK4 Series specialty tractors made their first appearance in North America at the World Ag Expo trade show. The T4 F/N/V lineup, built for use on small and midsize vineyards and orchards, now come with New Holland’s VisionView cab, and TK4 crawler tractors now include more powerful engines that meet EU Stage V emissions regulations thanks to a compact aftertreatment system tucked under a new hood. New Holland’s T4 tractors have been popular for specialty crop work internationally for many years; in November, the series’ T4.120F model was named the Best Specialized Tractor in the international Tractor of the Year Awards for 2023.
The VisionView Cab
The T4 F/N/V series’ four models are powered by 3.4-liter, two-valve and 3.6-L, four-valve FPT F5C engines. They also include redesigned hydraulic circuits; just one pump can deliver 21 gallons per minute (79.5 liters per minute) to new linkages and hydraulic remotes, New Holland says. Their new flat-deck VisionView cab has as a one-piece side window and four-pillar design, plus the market’s most compact hood, all contributing to what the company says is best-in-class visibility. The cab is also the segment’s quietest, New Holland says, with a noise level as low as 71 decibels. It also boasts an upgraded InfoView digital instrument cluster that simplifies the management of all machine controls and settings.
“New Holland has remained at the forefront of the specialty tractor segment for seven decades, earning its position as the undisputed leader by constantly innovating and upgrading our products,” says Oscar Baroncelli, New Holland Agriculture tractor product management global leader. “Over the years, we have developed our uniquely wide offering to meet our customers’ most specialized requirements and anticipating their evolving needs. The new T4 F/N/V VisionView cab raises the bar once again by completely redesigning the products around customer needs.”
Upping The Power Game
New Holland’s TK4 Series crawler tractors provide excellent traction, flotation, and stability for working on steep, hilly terrain. They are now powered by Stage V power plants that range in maximum power from 85 to 109 horsepower (63.4 to 81.3 kilowatts). Stage V compliance comes via an aftertreatment system with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), and selective catalytic reduction on filter (SCRoF) systems. The series’ narrowest models are powered by a 75-HP (56-kW) Stage V engine equipped with EGR, DOC, and diesel particulate filter (DPF) systems.
TK4 Series tractors are available with a factory-fitted cab and the SmartTrax rubber track system, which New Holland says operators can swap for steel tracks in less than an hour when the need arises. An available Steering-O-Matic Plus steer and clutch system makes it possible to steer, brake, stop, and restart the tractor with one control and without using a clutch pedal. A Lift-O-Matic mechanical hydraulic control system allows operators to raise or lower the rear linkage during headland turns while still maintaining position and draft settings.
