Kubota Adds New L2502 & L4802 Compact Tractors To Standard L Series
At the recent 2023 National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, Kubota introduced new 24.8-horsepower (18.5-kilowatt) L2502 and 48.4-HP (36-kW) L4802 models to its Standard L Series (or L02 Series) of compact tractors. The L4802 is available in a Narrow configuration that’s just 52.7 inches (1,338 millimeters) wide, making it ideal for spraying, mowing, and towing tasks on orchards, vineyards, nurseries, and other jobsites. Both models have a newly designed bonnet and grille and LED headlights and side work lights. An enhanced suspension seat, optional armrests, new loader and bucket options, and brakes relocated to the left side for easier usage are also on tap.
The Top Seller
Kubota says the four-model L02 Series is both its top-selling series and the No. 1-selling compact tractor in North America for more than a decade. The tractors are well-suited for hobby farming, property maintenance, snow removal, and landscaping work. They’re powered by direct-injection, water-cooled Kubota diesel engines with rated power options ranging from 24.8 to 48.4 HP. Lift capacities range from 1,446 to 2,147 pounds (656 to 974 kilograms). The L2502 has a 1,918-lb (870-kg) lift capacity, and the L4802 a 2,147-lb capacity.
All series models have a semi-flat operator platform with a rollover protection system (ROPS) and a three-point hitch. The tractors are variously available with Kubota LA526 and LA766 front loaders and BH77 and BH92 backhoes. Customers can opt for either a gear-drive transmission with eight forward and eight reverse speeds or a three-range (Low, Medium, High) hydrostatic transmission (HST) with cruise control and an HST treadle pedal. The L2502 and L4802 gear-drive transmission configurations are available in two-wheel- and four-wheel-drive versions. With an HST, both models include live independent PTO engagement.
Talking Tires
Kubota also announced that the L02 Series now includes new Trac Loader II tires from Titan International, available in select sizes. The tires’ design provides enhanced cleanout and is optimized for operation on turf or in snow, ice, or mud, Kubota says.
