New Holland parent company CNH Industrial recently revealed a series of updates to its T9 with PLM Intelligence (PLMi) Series tractors at the Farm Progress Show in Decatur, Illinois. The manufacturer’s largest New Holland tractors received a major makeover for the 2024 model year, with increased power, efficiency, and comfort.

    More Power

The 2024 T9 series is equipped with 13-liter FPT 13L cursor engines, with peak horsepower ranging from 467 to 699 (344 to 514 kilowatts). The T9.470, T9.520, and T9.580 have electronic variable geometry turbo engines to boost horsepower and fuel efficiency. The T9.615, T9.655, and T9.700 have 2-stage turbocharging (fixed geometry in the first stage and wastegate in the second stage). All six tractors now also have increased gross vehicle weights (GVWs) to increase their load-carrying capacity. The 2024 model year also marks a shift for the series from the rated SAE engine horsepower to metric horsepower to match New Holland’s other high-horsepower tractors.

    Increased Comfort

The T9 has a redesigned cab with a new headliner, overhead console, and RAM mount rails. Overhead grab rails and improved door handles have also been added to improve the user experience. The tractor’s new LED lights increase visibility by 20% to enhance safety and extend working hours. To improve forward visibility, the T9 has a thinner exhaust and the J tube between the Diesel Oxidation Catalyst and the Selective Catalyst Reduction has been removed. This also prevents urea deposits in low-load work to aid emissions control.

    Technology Options

The T9 with PLMi can be equipped with a dual IntelliView 12 monitor setup so operators can view the full suite of tractor data and precision ag info simultaneously. All T9 tractors come standard with one screen but buyers can have a second display installed at purchase or later as needed. A premium sound system with an 8-channel amplifier, two tweeters, a premium sound-specific cab post cover, and device mounting attachments is another optional upgrade.
