Valtra is launching the sixth generation of its S Series tractors globally at Agritechnica in Hannover, Germany, in November. The newest tractors have enhancements to design and updated features that Valtra says emphasize comfort, visibility, and technology; the tractors are available with the manufacturer’s Valtra Unlimited customization options. Initial deliveries of the S Series are expected to be made in summer 2024.

    Here Comes The Boss

The S Series, which Valtra calls “The Boss,” ranges from 280 to 420 in rated horsepower (206 to 309 kilowatts). The tractors have 8.4-liter AGCO Power engines and continuously variable transmissions, which Valtra says decrease fuel consumption by up to 10% compared to the previous series. The sixth generation has a redesigned cab with improved access that’s more spacious. The tractor is equipped with more LED lights, the popular TwinTrac reverse drive system, and a SmartTouch user interface along with a range of front axle and cab suspension options as well as the option of the Skyview cab.

    New Design

The redesigned S Series has a fully integrated lighting unit with LED low and high beams, daytime running lights, and working lights for high output. The ergonomic cab now has more gently inclined steps for easier access. To increase sustainability, the S Series is compatible with renewable diesel, which is what the tractor will have in the fuel tank when it leaves the factory.

“The 6th generation S Series combines form and function in a modern, aggressive form language that conveys the S Series’ power,” says Kimmo Wihinen, Valtra’s industrial design and user experience department lead. “The sleek slope of the bonnet gives exceptional forward visibility.”

    Smart Technology

The S Series is packed with technology to make work easier. Valtra’s SmartTurn automatic headland turning offers Part Field Mode, U-Turn, Y-Turn, and K-Turn turning patterns to efficiently maneuver fields.

“Our precision farming offering today meets the majority of customers’ demands, and the SmartTouch user interface makes Valtra smart farming technology the easiest in the market,” says Valtra Product Marketing Specialist Johan Grotell. “We are working on new technology features from which Valtra customers will benefit in the near future.”

    Custom Options

Sixth-generation S Series models can be customized with Valtra Unlimited features. Options include the Central Lubrication System, a sound system that includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the Unlimited View camera system.
