John Deere’s New High-Horsepower W260M Windrower Is Made For Dense Crops
John Deere recently expanded its line of windrowers with the W260M, a high-horsepower windrower built to cut denser crops with increased efficiency. Customers can pair the windrower with John Deere’s new mounted merger option to cover up to 48 feet (14.6 meters) in a single pass. Deere says the W260M and the mounted merger will be available at John Deere dealerships this fall.
About The John Deere W260M
The 260-horsepower (195-kilowatt) W260M uses the AutoTrac steering system to maintain crop quality and John Deere’s TouchSet feature to enable adjustments to windrow shape and conditioning. The windrower is JDLink-enabled and is compatible with the manufacturer’s new, optional mounted merger, which lets it create one 48-ft windrow. This reduces or eliminates the need for future passes with a merger and chopper, saving time and fuel and minimizing crop damage.
The mounted merger is also compatible with existing W235M, W235R, and W260R windrowers.
"Do More With Less"
"Dairy feed producers are looking for ways to improve profitability that doesn't increase labor hours,” says Kaylene Ballesteros, John Deere hay and forage go-to-market manager. “The new W260M and mounted-merger solution set helps accomplish just that. Our customers need to do more with less to combat rising costs within the industry. A solution that offers time savings with less passes allows them more time and money to focus on other areas of their operation."
