650M Crawler Dozer Joins Case Construction Equipment’s M Series
Case Construction Equipment is in the process of replacing the 650L crawler dozer with the 650M, which falls within Case’s M-Series of crawler dozers. The 74-horsepower 650M integrates such M Series features as a Tier 4 Final FPT engine with DOC (diesel oxidation catalyst) technology and Case ProCare protection offering a three-year, 3,000-hour full machine factory warranty; three-year, 3,000-hour planned maintenance contract; and three-year Advanced Case SiteWatch telematics system.
Numerous Improvements
Sporting an enhanced undercarriage with improved track frame, idlers, sprockets, rollers, extended-life SALT HD tracks, and reinforced mainframe, the 650M touts an increased drawbar pull of 39,086 pounds (17,729 kilograms), hydrostatic drive system, and advanced load management system that auto-reduces track speed when carrying heavier loads on the blade and increases track speed when carrying lighter loads on the blade to optimize power and efficiency.
More Operator Control
Elsewhere, M Series Control configurations enable operators to pick smooth, moderate, or aggressive steering and shuttle sensitivity settings to set machine responsiveness and controls to personal preferences while also matching ground conditions. A ROPS canopy comes standard with the 650M but an optional ROPS cab featuring floor-to-ceiling straight-panel glass doors is available for down-to-the-blade visibility. A sealed and pressurized cab is also optional.
Additionally, Case says it has reduced vibrations and noise with the 650M compared to previous generations and updated the cooling package, which is designed to optimize engine and hydraulic temperatures.
Other Crawler Dozers
Other crawler dozers in the M Series include the 750M, 850M, 1150M, 1650M, and 2050M, which range from 68 horsepower to 214 horsepower and offer blade widths ranging from 90 to 135 inches (2.29 to 3.43 meters). Case bills the M Series as the industry’s first line to integrate SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology.
