Throughout 2018, CASE Construction Equipment is celebrating 60 years of selling its iconic wheel loaders. The company kicked off the party this week with a T-shirt giveaway at the 2018 World of Concrete tradeshow in Las Vegas.

Wheel Loaders Going Back In Time

The first integrated four-wheel drive wheel loader CASE sold was the W9, which became available in 1958. Built in the Racine, Wisconsin, tractor plant, the W series loaders all featured cabs mounted on the front half of the machine and rigid-frames, and they rapidly gained popularity in the construction, landscaping, waste/scrap, municipal, and agriculture industries. The company shortly added the W10 and W12 to its growing family of four-wheel drive loaders, and introduced the front-wheel drive W5, and the 15-ton W26 articulated loader, throughout the 1960s. The massive 4-yard-capacity W36 launched in 1977, and was a behemoth of an earthmover.

Ten years later, CASE launched the Model 621, which featured a modern rear-mounted cab and a more rugged design. As CASE fleshed out its 21 Series wheel loaders, the company began to focus on features and designs that increased productivity, serviceability, and operator comfort. The lighter and more nimble F Series wheel loaders were the first heavy earthmoving equipment to support selective catalytic reduction (SCR).

    CASE Wheel Loaders Today

Today, the F Series compact wheel loaders are notable for their superior lifting and breakout force, large comfortable cabs, low-profile frames, excellent stability and load retention, up to 74 horsepower engines, and up to 1.3-cubic-yard (1-cubic-meter) bucket capacities.

If you’re in the market for a full-size wheel loader, CASE has you covered with its current line of award-winning G Series loaders, which support up to 347 horsepower, bucket capacities up to 6.25 cubic yards (4.78 cubic meters), four power modes, 5-speed transmissions, excellent operator comfort features, and 360-degree visibility from within the cab.
