Leading global construction equipment manufacturer Case Construction Equipment has added numerous enhancements to its line of N Series Tier 4 Final backhoe loaders, which are aimed at government, municipality, residential and nonresidential construction, road and bridge, snow removal, landscaping, utility, agriculture, and other sectors.

    The Case N Series Lineup

The N Series backhoe loader lineup includes the 580N EP, 580N, 580 Super N, and 590 Super N models, which range from offering 74 horsepower to 110 horsepower and 14.1 feet (4.3 meters) to 15.5 feet (4.7 meters) in digging depth and that are compatible with augers, box scrapers, brooms, buckets, grapples, hammers, rippers, and other attachments from Case.

    New Enhancements

Among the new enhancements Case has implemented in the product line is a new Pilot Control hydraulic system that gives operators additional control in critical applications. Additionally, Case has improved the hydraulic system to reduce noise inside the cab.

    Fuel Economy Now Standard

Elsewhere, a fuel economy package that was once an optional feature now comes standard and includes an ECO mode switch for loader and backhoe operations aimed at improving fuel savings. An Auto Engine Idle feature, meanwhile, reduces engine RPMs to idle if the backhoe controls go unused for a certain time period. Similarly, an Auto Engine Shutdown feature will shut down the machine down when going unused for a set period. Both features are customizable to the operator’s preference. Elsewhere, an Engine Protection Shutdown mode will turn the engine off if the engine, drivetrain, or engine oil pressures exceed normal ranges.

Other enhancements Case built into the N Series include making various electrical system features (battery disconnect, jumpstart terminal, etc.) standard offerings across the product line; updating the drivetrain to enable better roading, gradeability, more push power under load, and improved acceleration; and the addition of Extendahoe wear pads, which are externally adjustable and aim to make maintenance and servicing easier.

    Multiple Factory Options

Notably, Case has also made several new factory options available with the N Series, including a new LED light option and a bolt-on chaff screen that attaches over the standard front grill to protect the engine compartment and cooling package from debris. There’s also an 18-inch (0.45 meter) front tire (bias ply or radial options) and heavy-duty front axle option for the 580N and 580 Super N models enabling more float and cushion, plus new bolt-on front fenders that protect the machine and operator from water, mud, dirt, and other debris when operating off-road on rougher terrain.
