Bandit equips the new BTC-300 with bulletproof-grade glass, which eliminates the need for metal safety bars, and allows the track carrier to meet FOPS/ROPS/OPS safety standards. The better visibility is combined with an air-ride captain’s chair (10-way adjustment) and a deluxe, climate-controlled cab for all-day comfort. For excellent ground clearance and all-terrain capabilities, the BTC-300 rides on Cat 315 steel tracks. The track carrier can use a Bandit 90-inch (2.29-meter) forestry mower or 44-inch (1.11-meter) diameter stump grinding head to clear land.

    Machine Specs

The BTC-300 is available with one of three engines: a 300 horsepower John Deere, a 315 horsepower Volvo, and (coming soon) a 321 horsepower Cat—all provide Tier 4 engine power. The machine weighs 31,200 pounds (14,152 kilograms) and boasts a ground pressure of either 5.5 pounds per square inch (0.38 bar) with 600-millimeter pads or 4.1 psi (0.28 bar) with 800-millimeter pads. On the interior, Bandit provides a HVAC system with window and foot vents, ideal for quiet and cool operation in the summer or warmth in the winter.

    The Attachments

The 90-inch (2.29-meter) forestry mower can cut down small-to-medium sized trees, according to Bandit. The mower attachment includes a float feature that helps to keep the head at ground level—without digging into the turf. Bandit also uses its patent-pending tooth and holder design on the mower to mulch limbs and brush directly onto the ground. Need to switch to the stump grinder? Bandit says you can do so in less than 10 minutes in the field. The 44-inch (1.11-meter) diameter grinding wheel offers a deep reach for aggressive stump removal.

    A Clear Path

“Customer feedback went into a majority of the design of the BTC-300,” says Jason Morey, bandit sales manager. You can learn more about the BTC-300’s customer-inspired advancements by calling 1-800-952-0178. You can also contact a nearby Bandit authorized dealer if you want to schedule a demo. Morey says “the feedback we’ve received about our new track carrier has been amazing.”
