JCB Adds Canopy Option To Teleskid Line Of Skid Steers & Compact Track Loaders
The value of a piece of machinery increases significantly if you can use it all year and in all types of conditions. That’s why JCB’s recent announcement that it’s adding a canopy option to its line of Teleskid skid steers and compact track loaders is particularly exciting. These machines are well-suited for work on the farm or on construction sites, and JCB’s new canopy design makes the Teleskid an even more attractive option for rental fleets. It gives companies a choice between the canopy and going with the standard climate-controlled cab already available on Teleskid models.
JCB claims that its cab and canopy options both offer up to 33% more space in the cab for operators and have 60% better visibility in comparison to competitor offerings. The canopy option, however, can potentially lower ownership costs for rental operators while increasing machine availability.
Wheels Or Tracks?
The Teleskid line of skid steers and compact track loaders gets its name from JCB’s telescopic Powerboom, which gives these machines lift heights up to 13 feet, three inches and lets them dig as far as three feet below ground. Powerboom also gives Teleskid loaders a forward reach of up to 8 feet, which lets them do jobs that other loaders can’t. The boom supports up to 1,600 pounds when fully extended, and up to 3,695 pounds when retracted.
The overall Teleskid line consists of the 3TS-8W, 3TS-8T, 3TS-8T AG, and 3TS-8W AG. All of the models have a net engine power of 74 HP (55 kilowatts), but where they differ is in operating weight and operating capacity. For example, the 3TS-8W has an operating capacity of 3,208 pounds (1,455 kilograms) and an operating weight of 9,859 pounds (4,472 kilograms), while the 3TS-8T AG has a rated operating capacity of 1,614 pounds (732 kilograms) and an operating weight of 12,615 pounds (5,722 kilograms).
