JLG Industries, a world-class manufacturer of aerial work platforms and telehandlers and a division of the Oshkosh Corporation, unveiled several of its new ES-Series and R-Series slab scissor lifts at the 62nd annual Rental Show, which just wrapped up in New Orleans.

The Right Lift For The Job

At the show JLG demoed its dual-line ES-Series 1930ES and 3246ES electric scissor lifts. Highlights of these models include reduced charging time and longer runtime compared to competing scissor lifts. Peak lift capacities of the ES-Series goes up to 1,000 pounds (454 kilograms), and all JLG lifts in this lineup feature full proportional controls for ease of maneuverability. You can also get any of the four models in this line with an optional accessory package to make the unit more versatile than ever. The 1930ES and 3246ES support platform lift heights of 18.75 feet (5.7 meters) and 31.75 feet (9.7 meters), respectively.

JLG’s R-Series electric scissor lifts, including the 4045R with pipe racks and the 1932R that were shown, are ideally suited to the rental industry and perfect for a wide range of applications. Top priority for JLG in the design and manufacture of the R-Series is affordability, reliability, and serviceability. To that end, JLG builds its R-Series units with fewer parts, and these machines feature all-steel swing-out component trays. Other signature aspects of the R-Series include compact dimensions for working in tight spaces and an improved battery charger the lets you know at-a-glance how the battery is performing. These electric slab scissor lifts come in 19-foot (5.8-meter) and 45-foot (13.7-meter) models, with up to 770-pound (349-kilogram) platform capacities.

    High-Tech Extras

JLG’s tough and reliable scissor lifts feature a number of unique and exclusive technologies that make its machines stand out. One of these is controlled elevation descent, which slows the platform movement as the scissor is reaching its top height, and then again as it comes all the way down. The controlled drive descent capability lets these lifts descend smoothly when working on steep slopes. A marquee feature of the 4045R is its pressure-based load sensing system, which enables the operator to forgo manual load calibration in the field. Some ES-Series lifts support dual capacity, which means that the operator can take additional materials and tools to lower elevations up to the restricted capacity of the lift.
