Skyjack Goes Compact With Little Big Cab

    Posted On: February 27, 2018

Skyjack has a solid reputation for engineering some of the best material handling equipment around, especially when it comes to dealing with big and heavy loads. The company knows that huge telehandlers aren’t always the best option for customers and rental companies, as some jobs require telehandlers that fit into tight spaces. At The Rental Show, which wrapped up last week in New Orleans, Skyjack announced its first compact telehandler called the Little Big Cab.

    Load & Lift Specifications

Skyjack rates the Little Big Cab (also known as the SJ519 TH) with a maximum lift capacity of 5,500 pounds (2,495 kilograms) and a maximum lift height of 19.1 feet (5.82 meters). When the telehandler extends to its maximum forward reach (11.25 feet, 3.44 meters), Skyjack rates the Little Big Cab for a load of 4,400 pounds (1,996 kilograms). The compact telehandler is powered by a 74-horsepower Deutz TCD2.2L T4F engine.

    A Jacked Compact Telehandler

With a name like Little Big Cab, it’s no surprise that Skyjack is looking to tout the SJ519 TH’s class-leading cab size. For example, Skyjack is able to offer a fully opening door, so operators can easily get in and out of the cab. Skyjack indicates it has added many of the serviceability and lift enhancements found on the company’s existing telehandlers. For instance, there’s an easily accessible engine bay with a full opening steel cowling.

Skyjack incorporates its FLEXCAB design so you can quickly convert the Little Big Cab from an open cab to a closed cab using standard tools. “When we started the design phase for this product we knew we wanted to maintain similar features with our existing telehandlers,” said Barry Greenaway, product manager at Skyjack, in a news release. “It’s Skyjack’s consistency across products that adds to simplicity of service, and decreased downtime for our customers.”

Coming To Rental Yards In Q3 2018

Skyjack is taking pre-orders for the SJ519 TH, and you should be able to rent it by the third quarter of 2018.
