Snorkel Shows Off New Lifts
Unless you’ve been living under a slab, you’re probably aware that the 2018 World of Concrete convention wrapped up recently, and one of the many construction equipment suppliers that made a splash on the show floor was Snorkel. This well-known supplier of aerial work platforms, together with its sister company Xtreme Manufacturing, showcased a lot of exciting products at its 9,500-square-foot (882-square-meter) booth in the Las Vegas Convention Center’s Silver Lot.
Something New
All told, Snorkel is showing off 14 aerial lifts, several of which are new to the market. These new models include the Snorkel 660SJ mid-size telescopic boom lift, the Snorkel SR5719 compact telehandler capable of lifting up to 5,732 pounds (2,600 kilograms) up to a maximum lift height of 19 feet (5.8 meters), and the Snorkel TM16E electric drive self-propelled telescopic mast lift, which offers a zero inside turning radius and roll-out deck extension. The new Snorkel S3215L electric scissor lift is an aluminum-framed version of the existing Snorkel S3215E, which is significantly lighter, with an impressive floor loading weight of 195 pounds per square foot (952 kilograms per square meter).
Something Old (Made New Again)
Snorkel also showed off the rebuilt AB60J articulated boom lift, one of its most successful and iconic models that is prized for its superb maneuverability, superior power, and excellent precision. This unit features hydraulic platform rotation, four-wheel drive, 360-degree continuous turntable rotation, and rheostat controls at ground for boom functions. Successors to this model include the A46JRT, A62JRT, AB80J, and AB85J.
The Mainstays
One popular core model you could inspect and learn more about at the booth included the Snorkel S3370RT compact rough terrain scissor lift. Snorkel also had a selection of electric slab scissor lifts on hand, giving attendees a well-rounded overview of the company’s diverse lineup. Those interested in buying new from Snorkel will appreciate the standard two-year parts and labor warranty, and the five-year structural warranty.
