Morbark Introduces iQ-View Smart Controller For Beever Wood Chippers
Winn, Michigan,-based Morbark recently upgraded its Beever M12R, M12D, and M12RX brush chippers. Customers can now get these machines equipped with the iQ-View Smart Controller, which manages the chipper’s auto-feed function and gives the operator direct access to engine and machine parameters.
Take The Pulse Of Your Chipper
The iQ-View controller, from Industrial Electronic Controls, is designed to work with Morbark’s 3-liter gas engine-powered machines. It consists of a widescreen display that lets the operator select and view four equipment parameters at once. With the push of a button, the operator can switch to a second series of viewable parameters, for up to eight total.
Buttons along the bottom of the screen let the operator manually select the appropriate speed for the chipping application at hand. There’s also a custom speed setting that the operator can easily configure and enable as needed. According to Casey Gross, Morbark Director of Tree Care Product Sales, “The settings are designed to optimize chipper efficiency, improve output, and reduce downtime.”
The iQ-View screen provides the operator with a wealth of information at a glance, such as diagnostics for troubleshooting system issues, and J1939 CANBUS messaging alerts for engine overheating, high oil pressure, low battery voltage, and other potential problems. The system even supports additional inputs and outputs, so you’ll be able to add additional functionality at a later date.
More To Come
In the future, Morbark plans to add the iQ-View Smart Controller to its remaining gas-powered chippers, followed by its diesel-powered chippers.
