Vermeer Reveals New BC1500 Brush Chipper With Gas Engine
The newest entry in Vermeer’s BC1500 line of brush chippers is now available with a gas-powered engine that produces up to 165 horsepower (123 kilowatts) and doesn’t lack in performance when compared to the diesel model. The BC1500 features a precision-balanced drum equipped with two A8 double-side knives, which gives it the ability to chip logs with up to 15-inch diameters. It also uses helical cleats to minimize vibration in the machine, a bottom-feed stop bar for emergency shut off, and an upper feed control bar that gives the user total control over the chipper.
The Conversion Is On
“Faced with emission regulations, many arborists are converting their equipment fleet to gas,” says Todd Roorda, Tree Care/Rental/Landscape sales manager for Vermeer Corporation. “We’ve designed the BC1500 gas brush chipper, along with the other gas models in the Vermeer brush chipper product line, to be efficient to operate and optimize productivity.”
Other Features
The BC1500 gas brush chipper comes with a wide range of advanced technologies, including the SmartFeed system that works to ensure maximum efficiency by automatically stopping or reversing feed rollers as needed. EcoIdle is another technology that will bring down the engine speed automatically when the chipper is not in use. If you want to control your chipper remotely, you can opt for the Tree Commander remote, and if you need to handle particularly heavy logs, there’s an option to add a 150-foot winch line.
