Kentucky-based Link-Belt, a world-renowned telescopic and lattice boom crane manufacturer, just launched its new 100RT, a rough-terrain crane offering an impressive full-power boom height and a 100-ton (90 metric ton) capacity.

    A Tall Order

Link-Belt’s newest rough-terrain crane has a long radius, making it ideal for a variety of applications, including rental fleets, refineries, and general plant work. According to Brian Smoot, Link-Belt’s product manager for telescopic rough-terrain cranes, “There’s not a full power boom out there that carries this capacity chart at radius.”

The imposing full-power formed boom on the 100RT consists of five sections, ranging from 40.6 feet (12.4 meters) to up to 155 feet (47.2 meters). Link-Belt has equipped the 100RT with the company’s innovative fly erection technology, which leverages a fly assist cylinder to let a single person manage the task of erecting and stowing the fly. This machine also features ground level carrier controls.

    Under The Hood

The Link-Belt 100RT has a Cummins Stage V QSB 6.7 liter 232 horsepower diesel engine connected to a six-speed transmission. Both components meet the U.S. EPA Tier IV and EU Stage V emissions standards to ensure this machine is as gentle on the environment as possible. Performing regular maintenance on this machine is easier than ever thanks to the greaseless 4-link suspension, centralized electrical locations, remote mounted filters, and easy-access fluid checks. The 100RT’s 24-volt electrical system also simplifies the task of running diagnostics.

    In The Cab

Another feature operators of the Link-Belt 100RT will love is the overhauled cab design. Inside, you’ll find an ergonomic seat with electronic joystick- single axis controllers, a high-capacity HVAC system, loads of storage, interior lighting, time-delayed wipers, USB ports and 12-volt power supply connections, and a van-style pop-out door.
