Rayco just launched a pair of new stump cutters, the RG55 and RG80, and its brand-new TRG stump cutter trailer, which is ideally suited to hauling the new stump cutters to and from wherever they’re needed. These are the first new products Rayco has launched since it became a subsidiary of Morbark in November 2017.

    Chumping Stumps

Rayco’s RG45 stump cutter was a favorite among users, but the company saw more than a couple of ways they could improve upon the design. The result is the compact, lightweight RG55, built around a 53.4-horsepower Kubota gasoline engine, which offers more power than most diesel-powered stump cutters in this class. Other features include boosted travel speeds, full compliance with the California Air Resources Board and U.S. EPA regulations, large cutting dimensions, a convenient swing-out control station, wide floatation tires, and four-wheel drive.

Another product Rayco is adding to its lineup is the RG80, which caters more to users who need a powerful yet precise stump cutter. Features of this machine, which replaces the venerable RG70, include an 85-horsepower Ford engine, a variable-speed hydrostatic cutter wheel drive, true four-wheel drive, Hi and Low travel speeds, an integrated “creep mode” for precise handling, and the rugged Magnetek wireless remote control.

    Haul It All

If you’re looking for a way to haul your stump cutter, Rayco has created a versatile and well-built TRG trailer for just that purpose. This unit is capable of handling all Rayco stump cutters up to the RG80 and ships with a heavy-duty axle, wide platform, TorFlex suspension, electric brakes, and a pin-based mounting system for securing Rayco’s stump cutters to the deck without straps or chains.
