Caterpillar recently announced that it will show off a number of its latest machines, tools, engines, and product support capabilities at bauma CHINA 2018. The show is one of the largest construction industry trade events held in Shanghai, China, and will run November 27 to 30.

    Latest & Greatest

Cat will display its next-generation equipment at a 32,000-plus-square-foot indoor booth in the N1 exhibit hall, and will host product demonstrations at a 12,000-plus-square-foot outdoor exhibit, booth A60. Visitors to the show will get a closer look at numerous hydraulic excavators with both wheel and track undercarriages that Cat is announcing at the show. These machines offer a handful of cutting-edge features and offer between 15 and 25 percent less fuel consumption for certain applications.

The Cat 772 off-highway truck is another highlight of the company’s bauma CHINA show. It comes with a 41-cubic-yard capacity and a 598-horsepower engine. Depending on the configuration, the new Cat 986K wheel loader that’ll be on display has bucket capacities of up to 13.5 cubic yards. Other machines attendees will get hands-on time with include the 950 GC, 980L, and 982M wheel loaders, and the 140 GC motor grader, which has a revamped cab with an adjustable control console for superior operator comfort.

There will be a half-dozen Cat Next Generation mini-excavators at the show, as well, in addition to the 246 skid-steer loader. Cat will display a variety of attachments to help demonstrate just how versatile the new equipment can be. Other models that Cat is bringing to China include the Cat PM620 high-production half-lane milling machine, the CS79B soil compactor, and the dual-drum CB1.7 utility compactor.

    SEM Shares The Spotlight

In 2008, Cat acquired the China-based Shandong Engineering Machinery Co. Ltd. (SEM), which as a subsidiary currently manufactures a variety of construction and road-building machinery. SEM is also going to be exhibiting its new 680D wheel loader, 822D dozer, MG918 motor grader, and SCOM522 soil compactor at bauma CHINA.
