JLG Offers 3-Foot Platform For Powered Boom Lifts
JLG Industries, Inc., a division of the Oshkosh Corp. dedicated to manufacturing aerial work platforms and telehandlers, just launched a 3-foot (0.9-meter), 30- x 36-inch (0.76 x 0.9-meter) platform, which will be compatible with all JLG engine-powered boom lifts.
Just The Right Size
According to JLG Industries’ Bill Dovey, senior product manager booms, “These new smaller platforms help JLG meet the growing market demand for compact platforms to complete work in tight spaces.” JLG lifts equipped with traditional-sized platforms can be difficult to maneuver and use in tight quarters, so Dovey reckons the new platforms with open up a range of new applications for JLG’s equipment. The new 3-foot platform is ideally suited to construction applications, maintenance and repair of bridges, and work that needs to be performed around steel and concrete support structures. Other space-constrained applications that are likely to benefit from the smaller platform include petrochemical plants or refineries, cogeneration facilities, stadiums, convention centers, or between spires in a chapel.
Smaller, But Just As Safe
The new platforms may be smaller, but they’re still safe and comfortable enough to perform work on. Like other JLG platforms, the new models ship with the SkyGuard enhanced control panel protection system, which helps prevent the inadvertent actions that might endanger the operator. JLG offers the new 3-foot platform as an aftermarket purchase or on fresh-from-the-factory machines.
