JLG SkyTrak Telehandlers Get New Cold-Weather Package

    Posted On: November 5, 2018

The JLG SkyTrak 6036, and other models in the SkyTrak lineup, now have access to an optional cold-weather package that will help the machine operate efficiently and effectively when temperatures drop to as low as minus 20 degrees Fahrenheit. (Photo courtesy of JLG.)

JLG Industries, a subsidiary of the Oshkosh Corporation, recently announced the availability of a cold-weather package for its SkyTrak telescopic forklifts. The optional add-on provides heaters for the hydraulic tank, battery, and breather, as well as cold-weather fluids, like antifreeze and hydraulic oil. The cold-weather package equips SkyTrak telehandlers to perform as expected even as temperatures drop as low as minus 20 degrees Fahrenheit.

    Can’t Stop For Cold

“We understand projects can’t stop because of cold weather,” says John Boehme, senior product manager, telehandlers, at JLG. “This package helps ensure our SkyTrak telehandlers are operating at optimal efficiency. At the same time, operators will have the confidence that the machines will perform at the highest level in harsh conditions.”

    More On SkyTrak Telehandlers

The JLG SkyTrak series of telehandlers consists of the 6036, 6042, 8042, 10042, and 10054. The SkyTrak 6036 is one of the smaller offerings in the lineup and features a 74-horsepower engine, maximum lift capacity of 6,000 pounds (2,722 kilograms), maximum lift height of 36.08 feet (11 meters), and a maximum reach of 22.3 feet (6.8 meters).

On the other end of the spectrum is the SkyTrak 10054, which offers a maximum lift capacity of 10,000 pounds (4,536 kilograms), a maximum lift height of 53.2 feet (16.2 meters), and maximum reach of 38.75 feet (11.8 meters). It also has an option for the same 74-horsepower engine, which meets Tier 4 Final requirements without needing diesel exhaust fluid.
