CASE Rolls Out New DV Series Small-Frame Compactors

Four new compact rollers from CASE Construction Equipment promise excellent visibility for the operator and reduced tearing of the asphalt during operation. The new DV Series of vibratory rollers is intended for small- and medium-size projects such as bike paths, walking paths, and home driveways. Each is powered by a low-rpm, Tier 4 Final, 33.5-horsepower engine.

The four models include the DV23D and DV26D double-drum rollers at 4,920 and 5,490 pounds (2,232 and 2,490 kilograms), respectively, and the DV23CD and DV26CD combination rollers with front drums and air-filled rear tires at 4,600 and 5,170 pounds (2,087 and 2,345 kilograms).

    Easy On The Asphalt

CASE created the DV Series with high curb clearance and no overhangs. You can slide the seat left or right to see what’s going on at the edges of the front roller. Those edges are tapered to be gentle on the asphalt surface. You can also offset the front drum in relation to the rear. This not only reduces tearing on curves and during turns, but also results in a tighter turning radius.

DV Series compactors additionally let you select the amplitude of the vibrator as well as its frequency (3,480 vibrations per minute on low, 3,960 VPM high), and also let you set a top speed so the roller won’t go too fast for its vibratory frequency. The DV Series’ automatic vibration control ensures that starts and stops won’t damage the asphalt.

Finally, the new rollers come with a 50-gallon water tank that holds a full day’s supply of pressurized, filtered water to spray on the drum.

    Ace Force

CASE made the DV Series compatible with its ACE Force Intelligent compaction system. Ace Force uses technology to measure and document compaction quality, to help you complete the work with fewer passes, and to achieve the right amount of compaction for the job.
