Atlas Copco Adds Three New Air Compressors To Its 8 Series Utility Lineup, Designed For Use With Utility Trucks
Atlas Copco recently added three new air compressors to its 8 Series Utility lineup, designed to be mounted on utility trucks, each of which weighs less than 1,102 pounds (500 kilograms). The new units can produce airflow rates of up 2.8 cubic meters (99 cubic feet) per minute, but are compact enough not to add unnecessary weight to their vehicle. The standout of the trio is the U110 PACE (Pressure Adjust through Cognitive Electronics) air compressor, which features what Atlas Copco describes as “an innovative controller” that allows “for multiple pressure configurations from 5 to 10.5 bar.
“We launched our 8 Series Utility range last year with the promise of providing customers with lightweight and versatile compressors that could be easily and securely integrated into their utility trucks,” says Hendrik Timmermans, vice president of marketing for Atlas Copco’s Portable Air division. “We have now taken that commitment one step further with the introduction of our three latest models. Not only do they weigh below 500 kilograms, but all compressors in the Utility Air range now offer enhanced industry-leading service intervals.”
Atlas Copco U190 PACE Update
The 8 Series Utility range was introduced just last year, but the company is already making adjustments to some of the models, including the “top of the range” U190 PACE air compressor. Like the U110 PACE, this model now offers a digital controller that lets operators select a desired pressure from 5 to 10.5 bar for use in various applications.
More On The 8 Series
As mentioned above, Atlas Copco’s 8 Series air compressors are designed specifically for mounting on utility trucks. Each of the models features a corrosion-resistant C3-rated canopy and Kubota Mechanical engines that have “110% fluid containment, starter motor protection, and integrated top tanks,” the company says. They are also easy to maintain, with side access for service, spin-on filters, and centralized drains. Atlas Copco adds that “all consumables within the compressor are replaceable in under an hour without the need for special tools.” There is also an option for an integrated aftercooler and water separator, both of which make it safer for workers to use downstream tools.
