Deere’s 344L Compact Wheel Loader Gets A Raise With New High-Lift Option
The new high-lift option for John Deere’s 344L compact wheel loader adds 12 inches (30 centimeters) of reach to the standard 344L, bringing the maximum hinge pin height to 13 feet, two inches (4 meters). The 344L High-Lift also features Deere’s Articulation-Plus steering system, which helps operators move around a jobsite more quickly and increases lifting capacity when moving or placing materials overhead.
Reaching New Heights
“It’s important to provide our customers with increasingly versatile compact construction equipment to enable them to work with the variety of trucks, trailers, wagons, bins or hoppers they may encounter on any job site,” says Grant Van Tine, product marketing manager, compact wheel loaders, John Deere Construction & Forestry. The 344L High-Lift’s increased hinge pin height and dump clearance makes it a good option for dumping or stacking, ag material handling, general construction, and landscaping or snow removal tasks.
Load It Up
Deere indicates that, when equipped with a quick-coupler and bucket, the full-turn tipping load on the 344L High-Lift is 10,362 pounds (4,700 kilograms). Combine this with the loader’s 103-horsepower (77-kilowatt) maximum peak power, and you have a compact wheel loader built to handle dense, heavy overhead loads. The 344L compact wheel loader’s Articulation Plus steering system is said to provide a greater full-turn tipping load, a tighter turn radius, and more stability than a standard articulation loader. A new loader-arm and coupler design also provides operators with better load-carrying capability through the lift path.
