Morbark Releases New Midsize Rayco C275 Forestry Mulcher With Cat Engine & Predator Mulcher Head
Morbark’s newly released midsize Rayco C275 Forestry Mulcher features a compact, low-ground-pressure design that Morbark says makes the forestry mulcher “perfect” for clearing small trees, underbrush, and unwanted vegetation encountered across various worksites. Part of Morbark’s Land Clearing & Row Maintenance equipment lineup, the C275 mulcher uses a Cat diesel engine that produces 275 horsepower (205 kilowatts) of rated power.
“The C275 packs the power necessary for larger-scale clearing into a compact and agile unit,” says Rayco Manufacturing Mulcher Specialist J.R. Blowing.
Mulching Power
The C275 joins the T415 Forestry Mulcher & Hydra-Stumper in Morbark’s lineup of forestry mulchers topping 200 horsepower. The C275 is equipped with 24-inch (61-centimeter) single-grouser steel tracks, but optional 20-inch (51-centimeter) and 28-inch (71-centimeter) tracks are available. Rayco’s exclusive track-tensioning system with monitor is also included, as is a 109-gallons-per-minute cutter system that provides hydraulic power to the machine’s Predator mulcher head. The latter includes 42 carbide-tipped teeth, and spans 77.5 inches (197 centimeters) in cutting width. (Buyers can alternatively equip the C275 with a DENIS CIMAF mulcher head.) With a hydraulic rear winch in place, the C275 weighs 23,160 pounds (10,505 kilograms).
Keep Your Cool
In addition to a climate-controlled cab that’s sealed from dust and debris, the C275 features Rayco’s exclusive elevated cooling design, which keeps engine and hydraulic temperatures within their limits. A reversing fan activated from the cab, meanwhile, can clear the machine’s removable debris screens to help extend service intervals. Elsewhere, the cab’s high-backed operator seat is heated and provides adjustable armrests and air-ride suspension. The cab itself is certified to meet ROPS (rollover protection structure), FOPS (falling object protective structure), and OPS (operator protective structure) specifications and has a rooftop escape hatch, LED work lights, and a backup camera.
